Rare Blue-Crested Parrot Spotted Near North Point

The quiet serenity of North Point was briefly interrupted this morning by a flash of brilliant azure. Harbour Master Barnaby Brightwell confirmed a rare sighting of the Blue-Crested Parrot.

The bird was spotted near the entrance to Crab Key Marina, a bird so elusive it usually only appears in local legends and on the backs of particularly expensive postcards.

The sighting has drawn a small, hushed crowd of birdwatchers armed with binoculars and a high level of patience. To ensure the visitor isn't startled, Buster Bean was requested to park his Mr Bean’s Coffee Cart a respectful fifty yards away. "I’m happy to accommodate the wildlife," Buster said, though he appeared to be vibrating slightly from his own double-espresso. "But if that bird wants a macchiato, he’s going to have to fly to me. I'm not risking the engine on that sandbar."

The parrot remained for twenty minutes before heading towards the interior jungle, leaving the watchers in a state of satisfied silence—a rarity in itself for the North Point area.
