The North Shore’s Pink Blockade

The North Shore woke to a botanical ambush this morning as a rare "Super-Bloom" of Giant Hibiscus effectively shuttered the main path towards the Post Office.

The vibrant pink blossoms; some measuring over 20 centimetres across; have created a literal wall of floral perfume that has left Mayor Sands in a state of high-altitude frustration. He was seen earlier attempting to negotiate with a particularly stubborn branch using nothing but his official clipboard and a stern expression.

"It is a triumph of High-Glow energy;" remarked Cassie Shore; Director of Visitor Happiness; as she handed out complimentary nectar-samples to passing beachcombers. "The island is simply expressing its joy; though I do concede that the Postmaster being trapped inside by a curtain of petals is a minor logistical hurdle. We’ve advised him to simply enjoy the fragrance until the midday sun settles things down."
