Neon Tides at The Pier

A mysterious neon-green luminescence took over the waters beneath The Pier last night; turning the gentle Tuesday swell into something resembling a liquid disco.

The glow; which first appeared shortly after sunset; drew a small crowd of onlookers to the railings. The debate on the Boardwalk was split: was this a rare plankton event, or did someone simply drop a tray of neon cocktails over the side of the ferry?

Old Billy; proprietor of the Bait Shop; remains skeptical of any scientific explanation. "I’ve seen fish with more sense than to swim in glow-in-the-dark water;" he noted; whilst leaning heavily against a salt-crusted piling. "It’s either a sign of a very lucky week ahead or someone’s been washing their neon socks in the lagoon again. Either way; the Snapper aren't biting; they’re too busy admiring their own reflections."
