Beach Clean A Big Success!

Cassie Shore, Director of Visitor Happiness at Coconut Bay, has officially declared this weekend’s Big Beach Clean the most successful in the island's modern history.

Standing amidst a mountain of eco-bags at Coconut Bay Beach, Cassie reported that the "Most Unusual Find" of the day was a perfectly preserved vintage flip-flop from 1982 and a very confused, barnacle-encrusted coconut. "The community spirit was as bright as the UV levels," Cassie noted while distributing fresh mango smoothies to the volunteers. "By targeting the micro-plastics near the dunes, we've ensured our shoreline maintains its peak High-Glow intensity for the foreseeable future."

The final tally of the day included three bags of bottle caps and enough discarded netting to build a very small, functional hammock. Mayor Sands, spotted earlier measuring stall gaps on The Strand, paused to offer a "jovial" nod of approval at the pristine sands.

"A spotless beach is the primary ordinance of a happy life," Cassie concluded, as the sunset began to cast its rhythmic pulse across a shoreline that is finally breathing easier.

If you’d like to help keep our coastline sparkling clean, make sure you join our beach clean every Saturday morning.
